Re: Backlight doesn't work with latest Maverick kernel

Backlight worked flawlessly on my n140 with karmic, then it was broken for almost a year, until I updatet on Kubuntu Maverick KDE to version 4.6.0. Since then regulating backlight with the Fn Keys works flawlessly, no flickering, no shit. BUT there's one tiny little detail that's bothering me: if i ...

Re: Problems with samsung-tools

I've got the same problem on a N140 and Lucid. Without samsung-backlight the brightness wouldn't change at all, after installing the brightness package I only need to tip on the arrow key once and the brightness goes down by itself to the bottom and vice versa. So I only can put the brighness to mi...

Re: New application's coming: Samsung Tools!

I was playing with 'advanced power management' and I'm uncertain which settings are correct for me. Since I've installed laptop-mode-tools lucid is booting and shutting down slower than before, so I only ticked usb-autosuspend, ethernet, audio and video-output to reduce the effects on performance to...

Re: New application's coming: Samsung Tools!

without the 'sudo' command I get this output

Code: Select all

Can't open RFKILL control device: Permission denied
and with sudo there's no output or any status changing at all (as far as I can tell)

Re: New application's coming: Samsung Tools!

Hi! Switched to Lucid yesterday and am very unpleased to say, that the issues from kernel xx.31 are still in xx.32, meaning the freeze (almost forgot about it) and the fn keys not working. I (somehow) was sure, these issues would be fixed in kernel 32. I installed Samsung-tools from the repo however...

Re: Disable scroll area

Download and install gpointing-device-settings, you can disable the scrollbar and enable 2 finger scrolling (2 finger scrolling is not working on Kubuntu but give it a try anyway)

Re: WLAN LED under Kubuntu 9.10

Hmm too bad... :(

I'd be really satisfied with Kubuntu IF the Fn Keys would work correctly and IF the Light would go off when turning off Wlan and IF the powermanager would state the expected length of the battery remaining and IF these strange freezes would go away...

Well wait 'n see I guess.

Re: WLAN LED under Kubuntu 9.10

May I ask if you managed to get the light off? I'm asking this because I've got the exact same problem (using Kubuntu on the N140 though) and I'm not happy with this issue.
