A proposition : to avoid these problems, for non-KDE-or-Gnome users, is it possible to add an alias, to keep 'nc10' available, and automaticaly installed wtih samsung-scripts from repository ?
(something like 'ln -s samsung-scripts nc10' but you're far better than me to find correct syntax :-p ?)

Re: HOWTO: NC10 scripts
On my nc10, it's OK with shortcuts.
But mind that commands became 'samsung-scripts' instead of 'nc10', eg. 'samsung-scripts status'. Hope your problem is only forgotting this modification...

Re: nc10's disk LED blinking : OK ?
What's the value for the BATT_HD_POWERMGMT option in '/etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf'? 192 I have raised to 200. Here is the new value for sudo smartctl -a /dev/sda | grep Load again 0 / hour on AC (ok, I've understood ;-) ) then 105 / hour on battery :-( => 1st question : LED blinking doesn't m...

Re: nc10's disk LED blinking : OK ?
1. I've attached my dmesg output (just after rebooting). 2. It's the number of times your HD has been waked up. 193 Load_Cycle_Count 0x0032 198 198 000 Old_age Always - 6264 and after 20min approx. on AC, the same (?!) 6264. (0 / hour) Then, after 50 min. approx. on battery, 6352. (105-106 / hour)

Re: nc10's disk LED blinking : OK ?
My NC10 does not behave like this. What HD is your NC10 shipped with? Model Number: WDC WD1600BEVT-22ZCT0 The fact is, there is not a standard rule for optimizing laptop-mode... In fact, I am not sure that laptop-mode is involved : it is the same on AC or battery. sudo smartctl -a /dev/sda | grep L...

nc10's disk LED blinking : OK ?
Hi, I have installed Ubuntu 9.10 and then voria's scripts on my nc10. And it absolutely nice :-) I have enabled laptop-mode like explained is this forum. But hard disk's LED is often blinking (every 5 sec.). (see a small video on http://gervaisprof.free.fr/nc10/nc10.MOV ) Is it OK ? The same for you...

Re: HOWTO: NC10 scripts
Thank you. In fact I had to re-install Ubuntu (forgotten that "sudo" could be dangerous ;-) ...) After this fresh installation, sleeping mode is nice (= "deep sleeping", hard disk stopped) before or after nc10scripts added. So, as you said my previous problem has nothing to do wi...

Re: HOWTO: NC10 scripts
Thank you, Voria, that's usefull for me to stop compiz before switching from single screen to external monitor (or videoprojector) ! One more question (not urgent ;) ) : Have nc10 scripts installation modified the way the netbook goes to sleep ? (to known if the modification of sleeping mode comes f...

Re: HOWTO: NC10 scripts
Hi, And first many thanks to you Voria ;) ! (I've done a little donation to proove I do appreciate your great work...) I've activated your repository (for Karmic, since I use Ubuntu 9.10). nc10scripts work fine :-) But you talk about "wmswitcher" and "hal-info" for example in oth...
