Re: Battery life extender 80%

This is claimed by the Lithium batteries manufacturers, so why not believe them?
It's a matter of chemistry and physics.

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks

Well, it's just a useless key combination: you already get the € symbol with the "Alt Gr" + "E" combination.

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks

Thank you very much for your answer, which is not late at all: I was not even expecting one before the 10.04 official release! I'm quite happy that the wise opinion of a specialist like you is , for the time being, the same as the opinion of a "beotian" like me. All the problems I had with...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks

@voria: I have not enough knowledge to understand the technical issues dealt with/improved/etc..which will come into force with Lucid Lynx. Could you, without being too "technical", please explain whether, for a "simple end-user" as i am one, it will bring real benefits to switch...

Re: New application's coming: Samsung Tools!

So, a french translation is now available on Launchpad.
Sometimes, translation is perhaps not the best, as original sentences and/or expressions are shown out of context.
I will post you a PM about a few things for which I was in doubt when translating.

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks

@moreginger, "On an X120 here (05CX BIOS)" On SAMSUNG support site, the last available BIOS for the X120 series is 06CX.Its issue date is not mentioned, nor are known the differences from 05CX to 06CX, but the file seems available. It's up to you to choose if you want to make the change an...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks

@AMvis: Nice to read you made it in the end! Luckily my lack of knowledge prevents me to mess up my installation trying to make changes I am not able to manage properly, and as I am not really fond of installing again Ubuntu... So I stay with the 2.6.31-19 kernel from voRia's repository..the more as...

Re: Battery life extender 80%

Hello, This is done through the BIOS settings. Restart your machine and when the SAMSUNG logo appears, strike the F2 key (well, F2 on an N510, I do not know iif it's the same on all SAMSUNG netbooks..). Once in the BIOS, select the "Advanced" page with the horizontal arrows. In that page g...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks

@voRia, It may be that the N510 brightness issue is on its way , so , for the time being, do not waste your time about it and with my last message. I will keep you informed in due time of the results (whatever they will be), meaning by this: when I get enough time to try a few things I discussed wit...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks

Hi voRia, I added Option "EnableACPIHotkeys" "false" in the xorg.conf file and rebooted. It did not change anything to the lack of actual brightness control, meaning the Fn/UP&DOWN let the brightness bubble appear and change the index it shows., but nothing else. So, I am won...
