Hello. I changed Ubuntu 10.04 to Xubuntu. Most features provided by the drivers and samsung-tools work fine, except for not very important ones. And there is this problem with backlight control. Same problem here! How to deal with it? Well, you can deal with it in multiple ways. You can use notebook cooling pad or try to undervolt the CPU. I've finally managed to install packages, everything works fine. Just a couple of times the backlight automatically went dimmer after some time of idleness (netbook was on battery). No big deal though.
