Re: NB30 Samsung Wireless causes kernel panic in Oneiric Oce

Solved the wireless problems on the NB30 for good! :D In Lubuntu, I blacklisted all of the Linux wireless drivers for the Realtek wireless on the Samsung NB30. In the LXTerminal, I typed: sudo leafpad /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf added the following lines to the end: blacklist r8192_pci blacklist ...

NB30 Samsung Wireless causes kernel panic in Oneiric Ocelot!

I can't get the wireless to work on the NB30 in Lubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) without getting a kernel panic on shutdown/reboot. I've tried every other option that I know, but it's still a problem. Also the bluetooth no longer works after I installed a long list of Lubuntu updates. HELP PLEASE! :( ...

Re: 64-bit on Samsung NB30

How do I get the 64-bit wireless to work on the Samsung NB30?

I'm using Lubuntu 11.04 64-bit.

The log files get flooded with weird messages with the Realtek wireless on 32-bit Ubuntu.

PLEASE help.

Re: 64-bit on Samsung NB30

Thanks for your help. I can't get the wireless to work in Ubuntu (64-bit). I've installed "Samsung Wireless" and checked that the wireless is enabled in the BIOS and Ubuntu. Everything else works. The backlight will dim if the NB30 is idle and then stays very dim, but I can manually re-adj...

64-bit on Samsung NB30

Hi, I've been able to install Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit on the NB30. I don't have brightness control or wireless, so I'm wondering if there's 64-bit drivers for both? Every other device works, like the built-in webcam etc. I've installed LXDE as it's faster and Flash videos play more smoothly, using the l...

Lubuntu and my Samsung NB30 - need help please.

Hi It's been a while since posting in this forum. I now use the latest beta version of Lubuntu (a lightweight version of Ubuntu) on my Samsung NB30. I have the latest kernel and this Lubuntu beta is based on the Natty version of Ubuntu. Here are the problems I'm having with it: The default wireless ...

Re: CPUFreq causes Flash player to crash

Forgot to say, the BIOS version on my NB30 is the latest: 07JJ

PLEASE HELP. I have no backlight driver and no wireless.

As much as I don't like Flash Player, it's required for so many websites to work properly.

Re: CPUFreq causes Flash player to crash

Wow! Since removing CPUFreq - which also removed "Samsung Wireless" and the kernels, Flash has not crashed once. Since I now have Linux kernel 2.6.32-21-generic on Ubuntu 10.04, I can now close the lid down and resume from standby again. Unfortunately, I don't have the Samsung Backlight an...

Re: CPUFreq causes Flash player to crash

I've just removed the all the CPUFreq using Synapetc Package Manager, which has also removed the "Samsung Wireless" and the kernels.

I will now do a full update on the netbook.

I will let you know if not having CPUFreq stops Flash player from crashing.

CPUFreq causes Flash player to crash

Ever since having the "CPUFreq" things installed, Flash player crashes a lot. Flash player was no problem before the CPUFreq got installed.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help and hard work. Is MUCH appreciated. B) B)

Re: NB30 Wireless Problem

Re: NB30 Wireless Problem

It seems to be a problem with the latest kernel in Ubuntu 10.04, the kernel which ends with the number 27. The "Samsung Wireless" only seems to support the previous kernel, ending with the number 26. I use a wired connection from the NB30 as the wireless is nothing but trouble! I've update...

Re: samsung-wireless - driver version

I'm still a Linux newbie. I have no idea how you "install" that newer driver.

Will it be turned into a "download and install" update one day?
