CPU Frequency scaling on N230 (Atom N450)
My Samsung N230 is working great under Ubuntu 11.04 . Only problem: battery life sucks compared to W7. There is a well documented power regression in the linux kernel starting with 2.6.38, and some workarounds available. I've applied them all, somehow improving the problem. Now I can get 3 hours if ...

Re: Any progress on 11.04?
I also have noticed average temperature increase on my N230 with ubuntu 11.04, it seems to be related to a problem of the kernel as documented by phoronix: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=linux_kernel_regress2&num=1 (which by the way, cut in half my battery life, hope they...

Re: Natty and Voria
I have installed both samsung-tools and samsung-backlight on my natty install (I have a N230), and everything works flawlessly. The only problem is that the applet-indicator of samsung-tools does not show up anymore in the top panel, and I haven't been able to have it there. Didn't care too much abo...

Re: Wireless problems with Ubuntu 11.04
wierd, I also have the same version number (11.04) when I go to System->About Ubuntu. It must be a bug of the help program, since if I open System Monitor (System->Administration->System Monitor) and I go to the System tab, it tells me the right ubuntu version.

Re: Backlight doesn't work with latest Maverick kernel
Hey nanders, thanks for the tip on the power management! I was also able to stop the flickering by deselecting the 'dim display when idle' option. This actually means that samsung-backlight and power management are conflicting? if so, is there a way to fix this (I mean permanently, apart from desele...

Re: Backlight doesn't work with latest Maverick kernel
Hi, I have also the same problem of the brightness control going crazy on my N230. There must be something else trying to control the brightness...any idea? The way I stop the crazy behaviour is by trying to change the volume. Don't know why, but if I start pressing Fn + left or right arrow, then it...
