Re: Any progress on 11.04?

Having spent a couple of hours prodding around trying to find the root of the problem, I think I am a little closer. On the first login (before restarting gdm), where brightness cannot be changed using the Fn+up/down shortcut (but can using setpci), I did the follwing: # rmmod samsung_backlight # mo...

Re: Any progress on 11.04?

Apologies for posting a second time -- I could not see how to edit my previous post. Anyway, further to my last post, all I need to do to fix the backlight problem is drop down into tty1 (Alt+Ctrl+F1), log in and restart gdm, i.e.

Code: Select all

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart
Any ideas on how this might be working?

I posted this on another thread, but thought it would be relevant here. I have a weird problem in that on my Samsung N150 Plus, with Natty (64-bit). Re: Natty and Voria

I'm having a weird issue with Natty (64-bit) on my Samsung N150 Plus. When I boot up my laptop and log in to the Unity environment, brightness cannot be changed, though the on screen display shows the brightness level apparently changing when the function keys are changed. When I log out, the bright...

Re: Natty and Voria

I have just been testing Natty beta 1 on my N150 Plus. It seems to work pretty well. Out of the box the following work: * Wifi. It looks like Natty includes a new driver for the Broadcom card (brcm80211). It is offering me the choice to install the Broadcom third party driver, though the brcm80211 d...
