Re: HOWTO: Use the repository on *buntu 11.10

• Touchpad regression. An old bug seems present. The touchpad is over-sensitive vertically compare to horizontally. Intermediate Strangely, I do not observe such problem now. Unfortunately, I sometime have a cursor freeze... I already have this problem while I was using "normal" 10.10, so...

Re: HOWTO: Use the repository on *buntu 11.10

I stopped to use Voria's repository since last year. Now 10.10 has got too much problems, so I have tried it again. On a NC10: Negative • No GUI for samsung tools ? • Touchpad regression. An old bug seems present. The touchpad is over-sensitive vertically compare to horizontally. Intermediate • F4 s...

Re: Screen display blank

Hello, Suppose to be of interest to : - I needed to open my NC10 to install a SSD. - I have voluntary slightly moved the video cables so that there are less tensions to the welds. - Apparently none problem now... => So, if you are out of warranty, or have to open you netbook, you know you eventually...

Re: New project's coming: Samsung Tools!

Just my opinion, but I am not convince that a personalized icon is necessary. Finally whatever your netbook and the used utility (Jupiter, eeecontrol...), is it not better to have the same icon? So a generic icon can be justified too. It is a little bit the spirit of the MeMenu (first function, seco...

Re: Power saving : micromiser

Apparently it assumes 90w of power consumption. It is possible to scale the results using a personalized value. Does anyone know the power consumption of a NC10 in full state (CPU, screen 100%...)? I have installed powertop. -> proposes to activate a function "power on demand" -> proposes ...

Power saving : micromiser

Hello, Anyone aware of Micromiser of Miserware? www.miserware.com [...] MicroMiser automatically manages the power consumption of the individual hardware components (e.g. CPU) to ensure unchanged performance while lengthening battery life, reducing energy use and decreasing heat production. In addit...

Re: New project's coming: Samsung Tools!

Hello, Concerning icon... www.openclipart.org have an icon category. http://www.openclipart.org/tags/icon?page=0 You can use netbook or tool icon or completely original one. e.g. http://www.openclipart.org/detail/28950 Or, there are these ones, with an elementary look and feel and CC licence. http:/...

Re: A generalist applet to manage power, screen, resolution...

Hello,
Voria => Nice to see a new configuration manager dedicated to Samsung's models. Congratulation on your works.
Euri => I will continue to use Jupiter, nothing currently exists that competes. The major advantage is to resume many applets into one. It's not perfect, but quite efficient.

A generalist applet to manage power, screen, resolution...

Hello, Just to inform of a new device-power-screen-resolution management applet named Jupiter. http://sourceforge.net/projects/jupiter/ A screenshot http://netbooked.net/blog/jupiter-power-management-applet-for-netbooks Apparently, seems to work fine with NC10 too. The only drawbacks are : - colored...

Screen display blank

Hello. At start, the screen display is sometimes blank. Pivoting the screen flick the screen from normal to blank. Few seconds later, screen is stable and normal. Normally, it is a common problem in notebook with pivotal screen. The risk is to progressively break the video cable between the motherbo...

Re: Boot time ?

I did not believe that encrypted home impacts so much the boot time !? I have begun to remove unnecessary packages and processes, but that impacts mostly HDD and memory.
PS: Good point - there are less "abusive" dependencies, so it is easier to remove more packages.

Re: Some considerations about the future of the repository

I have switched to Karmic. It's easier (less patched) but the boot process looks unpolished. Major advantage: a simple way to have the new version of openoffice and few other programs. Only one minor problem. I have needed to remove and recreate wifi connection to get working network. None problem w...
