Re: NC10 / VGA-out Issues
It does work with a live cd. So definitely not hardware related. But why the hell wont a restart fix it? The problem must lie in some part of the system that is saved/restored on reboot. The last thing I recall happening is the monitor/desktop slowly fading/blanking as if it was about to enter scree...

Re: NC10 / VGA-out Issues
I started with Hardy, no compiz. Worked fine, then suddenly, bam, nothing works.
Have now upgraded to Lucid, still does not work, neither with compiz nor metacity. Problem is definitely X related.

Re: HOWTO: Use the repository on K/Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04
suspend does not work anymore on my NC10 after upgrading to Lucid (the one that's mapped to Fn-Esc).
ps: s2ram does work from console, but fn-esc just dumps me to the "session locked" screen.

NC10 / VGA-out Issues
Hey, I need some pointers on troubleshooting ext Vga out issues. I had dual screen set up using xrandr, and didn't fuck with it otherwise. Just a few hours ago, the external screen went "blank", but it is still receiving a signal, and the desktop is still there, ie i can move the mouse poi...

Is the acpi running at all?
Check for the kernel module and/or see if you have a /proc/acpi/dsdt

RE: 720p videos
I also suggest CoreAVC, 720p plays fine (1080p probably wont, but I have not tried to). This is a waste anyway, because the NC10's display resolution is too low for 720p anyways. But I usually "obtain" movies/anime in 720p, so I gave it a try. CoreAVC is a proprietary Codec, so you'll have...

RE: active WLAN produces noise on headphone
Most likely your headphones are not shielded. You are picking up a GSM/EDGE/IEEE802.11 radio frequency.
Solution: Try headphones with shielded wires.

What kind of device is this? Last time I checked, my nc10 did not have a pcmcia slot. Is that a usb dongle? Or did you replace the existing pci card?

RE: [nc10] Intel booster?
No. But to be honest.. why? It's a netbook, why would you need more graphics power? HD Video plays fine as long as you don't do anything else, and on a screen smaller than what I would consider HD, you cannot do anything besides watching. What do you do on your netbook that requires more cpu/gpu per...

I never tested that on WinXP. On Linux, the synaptics driver reports it as NOT multitouch capable.

When your machine locks up, do the front leds start flashing? Thats a kernel panic.
This has happened once before on my nc10 with intrepid, but i was never able to reproduce it.
