You have to add "rootflags=noload" to your menu.lst,at the kernel line, and you get rid of the journal from your system partition. (with the noload in the fstab ofcourse)

Hum my partition is dead now... sda5 is unknown

noload and data=writeback added to fstab but kjournald2 is always in action.

is it possible to disable the ext4 journalization in this kernel ?
