Ubuntu 9.04 change mac

Hi all,

I just installed ubuntu 9.04 and I need to change my wlan mac address in order to connect to the internet. I tried everything from "ifconfig" to "dhclient" and "macchange" but when i change my mac i cant connect to AP. Need help.

is there a mac address filtering on your access point?

Nop. I can connect to my access point using windows and changed mac address, but with the same changed mac i cant connect to ap using ubuntu.

Maybe someone could check if they can connect to ap with changed mac.

Just tried here and it works perfectly.
I used 'macchanger' to change the mac.

Anyway, why do you need to change the mac if there is no mac filters on your ap?

I will try 'macchange' again.

I need to change my mac cause i bought new netbook, but i need my old laptops mac to connect to the internet. I think my isp is filtering mac addresses..

'macchange' doesn't work neither....
