Hi'

I've just changed installation from Kubuntu to Netbook Remix.

Apart from missing the sleek design of KDE, I think the Remix is a huge succes.

It found my 3G connection directly. The screenbrightness works. It's quite fast. It's easy to work in, and looks ok.

Succes !!!

:D

Sure!

About speed:
Startup time is much improoved. 27 seconds to get to the login..., 20 seconds after login, and I have (wireless) network and a ready Remix Desktop.
Starting individual programs seems the same as before (Kubuntu 8.10, KDE 4.2)
Program windowsizes are better integrated than with 8.10, so I don't have to use Alt+Leftmouse to drag windows around so much as before.
Netbook Remix is absolutely easy to use.
Nothing fancy really. Just works...
BUT !!!
The desktop changer (From Remix to regular Ubuntu, and back) has crashed a couple of times.

I use my Samsung + Remix about 2 hour's pr. day, travelling in train(metro) every day. Using a 3G connection.
Works wonderful, and was so easy to get to work.

As for Ubuntu Netbook Remix, I'm very positive.
But beware during installation, that it's default set to alow startup with no login.
Huge, huge, huge security ERROR when we are talking about an ultra portable netbook, that you take with you anywhere.
And there should be a default security encryption possibility for the entire harddisk or individual folders...

But bios password would be more useful because bios is loading fast but for login need wait 27 sc and 20 sc.
