Samsung N140

Post by andrewmr »

I've just installed the standard version of Ubuntu on my Samsung N140, got the wireless drivers working and that's about it! What do I need to do now?
Apparently I need to update my BIOS to get the backlight keys working? I added the repository and installed samsung-tools and samsung-backlight, but the Fn key doesn't seem to be working.

Also, I noticed in another thread someone complaining of their harddrive making a noise every few minutes; I have the same issue and followed the laptop-mode installation tip didn't give me any improvements, in fact I'm pretty sure it was worse. So I removed laptop-mode and went back to using whatever was default.

Would appreciate some advice! :)
