New package version. :P

Code: Select all

samsung-scripts (6.0~ppa3~loms~karmic) karmic; urgency=low

  * Add '/usr/bin/nc10' as a symlink to '/usr/bin/samsung-scripts'.

New 'samsung-scripts' on the repository (version 7.0~ppa2~loms~karmic).
I've added a new script, 'switchscreenlayout.sh', which is binded by default to Fn-F4.
It takes care of cycling screen layouts created with the 'arandr' application, or to launch the 'arandr' application if no saved layouts are found.
More info on how it works in this thread.

New samsung-scripts. Changelog:

Code: Select all

samsung-scripts (7.0~ppa3~loms~karmic) karmic; urgency=low

  * Drop usb autosuspend feature for bluetooth and webcam,
     as it's already managed by laptop-mode.
  *  switchscreenlayout.sh:
     show a popup message to inform the user about compiz state,
     when it's enabled.
  *  debian/control:
     add 'libnotify-bin' as dependency.
I've removed the USB autosuspend feature, because it can be handled by laptop-mode, in a better and more generic way.
I'll update the laptop-mode howto with this new setting and many others, to get a better power management and a longer battery life. Stay tuned. ;)

Just registered to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all of your help... I now have my Samsung NC10 up and running 100% with Xubuntu!

One thing I'd like to note, is that the key bindings with this package do not work in Xubuntu, however I was able to set them manually to work properly.

You're welcome. ;)
About the keybindings, 'samsung-scripts' uses gconf to enable them, so it works good only for gnome. KDE and XFCE users have to bind them manually.

This is not true anymore with the new 'samsung-tools' available in Lucid.

What do you mean?
Can't you just click on 'Hibernate' instead of 'Shutdown' when you want to shut down your laptop? :P
