Report: Ubuntu 11.04 natty and N148 N150
Posted: 04 May 2011, 05:36
N148 and N150 are basically the same thing (but sold in different regions).
After upgrading to Natty, everything works out of the box except 2 things:
1. Compiz fusion settings lost
This is due to compiz 0.9.4 has been rewritten in C++. Configurations don't seem to work with the new version. (while the same settings has been with me since Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy compiz 0.7.4......) Have to reset using ccsm, shame.
2. Fn+arrow brightness adjustment not working
But it worked after latest package upgrade (samsung-backlight 0.13.7~ppa3~loms~natty) now:-) Good job, Fortunato;-)
Also, I have removed the kernel parameter acpi_backlight=vendor which is used to work around issue on maverick latest kernel.
BTW: I am not a fan of Unity, still using Gnome 2 http://flic.kr/p/9Enx42 ^^
Hope it helps to someone looking for upgrade incentives;-)
