Nou sound from internal speakers, headphone jack works fine

Post by tkoorn »

I have a NC10 running Karmic 9.10 and until yesterday everything worked fine. Today after rebooting I no longer have sound from my internal speakers. The headphone jack works fine and sending audio to a different machine works fine too. Just the internal speakers never seem to activate.
Any ideas?

From a terminal, use the 'alsamixer' utility and check if the external speakers are not muted.

Yes booting from the live usb I do have sound on the internal speakers.

The alsamixer shows the same picture on the live usb and when I boot normally.
