NC10 + Karmic mouse sensitivity too high

Post by muu »

System / Preferences / Mouse / General / Sensitivity slide ctrl has no effect at all.

There is an old thread:
http://www.voria.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14
But is this valid for Karmic anymore? What would be the easiest way to limit mouse pad sensitivity in Karmic in Samsung nc10?

Hi

With me mouse/touchpad problems were solved installing the xserver-xorg-input-synaptics packet on the Voria's PPA !
I hope it's that you need !

Thanks miplou!
This works. But mousepad is still too sensitive in horizontal direction. Vertical direction is just good. Dragging your finger on mouse pad from edge-to-edge moves the cursor about 70mm vertically, but about 25mm horizontally?
Question1:
How to reduce further the horizontal sensitivity? It should be a text conf file somewhere?
Question 2:
Lucid was released, but there is no VoRia xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package available for Lucid?

I tested Lucid in my desktop computer, and the Ubuntu mouse sensitivity issue seems to persist. Better to keep to Karmic in NC10?

I tested Lucid yesterday, there aren't old touchpad problems, the sensitivity is good, so the synaptic package is now useless.

Before installing synaptic package yes, when I made a circle with my finger on touchpad, mouse drew an elipse, but after installing package, it makes a circle.
Maybe your problem is not sensitivity but acceleration ? With me, when I dragg my finger slowly, mouse cannot go from edge to edge, but when I dragg it faster, mouse does it.

O.K.
Made a Lucid fresh install. NC10 works well. However:
Eg. dragging window left or right edge by mouse is still a pain. And mouse sensitivity adjustment has no effect at all. Mouse sensitivity remains too high in horizontal direction.
