then try to update the 'nc10-kernel' package again.
Ok, that helped, everything is running smoothly and updated. These are the things that happen when changing OS'ses, guess I still don't know exactly the rationale sometimes. So thank you again: this forum has helped me realise how good Ubuntu ...

Seems that the NC10 kernel package still points to the 2.6.30 kernel that was removed.. So that one doesn't work anymore.voRia wrote: New kernel on the repository, version 2.6.31-3.19~ppa1~nc10~jaunty.

You can change the setting in BIOS. From the NC10 ubuntu community page:
"Maximum brightness may be quite low if you don't disable the "auto" brightness feature in the BIOS (F2 at start-up). "
So setting it to "manual" and for one time do the trick during GRUB will work. I still think this is a ...
