Re: Samsung tools on Samsung N145 plus (Ubuntu11.10,32bits d

When running ubuntu in a live enviroment (ie, from a bootable USB), not all software repositories are enabled by default. In your specific case, you need 'xbindkeys' which is available in the 'universe' repository. You can enable this repository through the 'Software Sources' configuration dialog, t...

Re: cpufreq not working with 3.0.0-12.21 kernel from voria p

I've already moved the 2 new packages from my testing PPA to the "Linux On My Samsung" PPA, as I can't see any side effect on this new approach.

Note that the previously installed 'cpufreutils' is not automatically removed, you need to remove it manually.

Re: cpufreq not working with 3.0.0-12.21 kernel from voria p

As you already stated, the kernels on my PPA are identical to the official ones from Ubuntu, with the only difference that 'acpi-cpufreq' is built as module. This allows the use of the PHC module for CPU undervolting (the 'phc-intel' module needs to be loaded at boot as replacement of 'acpi-cpufreq'...

Testing needed for the new Samsung Tools 2.0

Hello everyone, I've uploaded a test package for 'samsung-tools' on my testing repository . This new version drops support for the old 'easy-slow-down-manager' kernel module, and makes use of the new 'samsung-laptop' interface instead. Please test it. You'll have to uninstall the old 'samsung-backli...

Re: Thanks Fortunato!

Hi there! Thanks for the nice thread, very appreciated. :) Last week I've installed Kubuntu Oneiric on my Samsung NC10... well, it was time to start working on it (BTW, no team, just me). ;) As I've reported in another thread , I'm trying to get the best from the new kernel available in Oneiric, try...

Re: R519: Kernel 3.0 with samsung-laptop module, & samsung-t

I've just finished to rewrite Samsung Tools, and now it works with 'samsung-laptop' ('easy-slow-down-manager' support has been dropped). At the moment the code is available on the bazaar repository (https://launchpad.net/samsung-tools) and probably I will release it as version 2.0. :) It seems to wo...

Re: R519: Kernel 3.0 with samsung-laptop module, & samsung-t

Hi, thanks for your work and experimentation with 'Samsung Tools' and the 'samsung-laptop' kernel module. A lot of useful informations here! ;) Today I've installed a snapshot of the soon-to-be-released Kubuntu 11.10 and I've started to "play" with the new 'samsung-laptop' kernel module. U...

Re: riparazione schermo rotto howto!!!!

Re: 64-bit on Samsung NB30

Hi,
all the packages provided on my PPA repository are built for both the i386 and amd64 architectures, so there are no differences between them from this point of view.
Just use the one you like more, assuming your netbook is 64bit capable (my old Samsung NC10 is not, so I'm forced to use i386 :().

Re: Is it necessary the samsung-tools at start-up?

Hi,

the only reason why 'Samsung Tools' is started at boot is to set the initial status of devices.
If you disable the boot service, all the functionalities still work as usual. ;)

Go to 'System Settings'->'Desktop Effects' and disable the 'Blur' effect, this should fix the problem. :)

Re: What happened to the xserver-xorg-input-synaptics packag

Take a look at this bug report:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18351

Basically, the synaptics driver autodetects the correct vertical/horizontal ratio when used in conjuction with kernels >= 2.6.31.

Re: What happened to the xserver-xorg-input-synaptics packag

That package was for ubuntu 9.10 (karmic koala) and it's not needed anymore since the vertical sensitivity problem was fixed some time ago.

Re: Any progress on 11.04?

Hi, first of all thanks for your kind words about my work, they are very appreciated (there is no team behind me, it's just me). ;) About the CPU undervolting feature, I've just uploaded on the PPA the modified kernel and 'phc-intel' package for Natty. They're in queue to be built right now, they sh...
