Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks
Test results are as follows: 1- 195.36.03 NVIDIA Driver Installed without trouble.Seems stable for the time being. Fn/ UP& DOWN have still no effect on the real screen brightness, although brightness bubble appears and is changed by the Fn/UP& DOWN keys. Conclusion: no change with this 195.3...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks
It seems there is a misunderstanding about brightness control , specially as regards the last line of my previous answer, which I thought was self-explanatory about the remaining issue: I only stated in that post that now the Fn/F5 works (with some trouble sometimes),which was not the case before, b...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks
I mapped again manually in compiz/commands the Fn/Fx with the relevant command lines. I uploaded from your archive repository the 190.53 NVIDIA driver, rebooted, and then tested the Fn/F5 action: good news, it works! However, strangely, in the same session the Fn/F5 does not always shut down t...

You largely over-estimate my ability to do such things alone!

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks
It does work through the terminal command, so it's related to a wrong keybinding. Then check if the command is correctly binded to the FN key. - Install 'compizconfig-settings-manager': sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager - Start it from 'System'->'Preferences'->'CompizConfig Setting...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks
Should your "backilght package" be installed before that?I ask silly questions, as you know..but as it is not mentioned in your procedure..and we never spoke of that before...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks
Sorry, it does not work.By the way, I used the graphical equivalent of ndiswrapper to set the 8192 module, but this should not change anything, as it uses ndiswrapper to do it...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks
I used the samsung-scripts on the N510. Results are: - for the webcam : I installed XawTV to get at least an application using the webcam (never used before!) The shortcut works as expected: the bubble telling the state of the webcam appears, and is toggled with the shortcut. Once the webcam has bee...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks
It could be done in the opposite way to try and find the unassigned keycodes for the N510. Here is the result of the xmodemap -kpe command ,I do not know if it is of some help. Anyway I highlighted the unassigned keycodes matching the "unresponsive"Fn/Fx/ keycode 8 = keycode 9 = Escape NoS...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks
Fn/F3 (Euro symbol) I do not copy everything, it's far too long and seems chaotic! I repeated twice the procedure with an "a" press before and another "a" after the Fn/F3 itself to see exactly the beginning and the end of it... So this is what happens when typing once Fn/F3: a Ke...

Re: Let's add support to other Samsung netbooks
Hello, I installed the samsung-scripts on my N510 but did not yet tested them not knowing if anything special for the N510 had to be done before. Please let me know if needed. I only checked via Compiz/Commands that 6 command lines had been created. FN/Fx tests: Fn/F2: battery status display: OK.Not ...
