Backlight issue running OSX 10.8 on Samsung 900x3c

Hi Guys,
I know this might not be the right site, but seeing that you have managed to get backlight working on Ubuntu, i can't help wondering if <whatever you did> will work on osx also.
Most other laptops have the backlight tied directly into the hw, hence you dont need much modifying to get it to work.. but the samsung is .. weird
So.. can somebody enlighten me a bit ?
