There are yet some problems in the logic and times used to restore devices status, I'll fix them as soon as I can.magick wrote:Strange things happen after suspend to ram, which i use quite often.
bluetooth ist off und set to default to off
wlan is off and set to last setting
after suspend to ram
bluetooth ist on
wlan is still off but the wlan-led is back on
Sure, it's on my TODO list now.magick wrote: btw, would it be possible to let samsung-tools print out the state of all devices at once?
Code: Select all
The method used to toggle wireless.
- esdm:
Use the 'easy slow down manager' interface.
This is the default option and it should work on all netbook
models.
- iwconfig:
Use iwconfig commands to toggle the radio transmit power.
On models like the NC10 shipped with Atheros wireless card,
this method disables wireless AND turns off the radio
transmit power. On other models this might not work as
expected: in these cases it's preferable to use the 'module'
or 'esdm' method instead.
- module:
Insert/remove kernel module to toggle wireless.
On some netbook models the radio transmit power is not
actually killed when the kernel module is removed: in these
cases it's preferable to use the 'esdm' method instead.
Concerning the FN keys problem, it has been fixed definitely in kernel >= 2.6.32, anyway support for various models is yet needed to be added in the udev packages, and I will provide it on my repository if it will not be there when Lucid will be officially released. Anyway, the fact that kernel does not need to be recompiled for adding support to new models it's a great step forward.OphiuchuS wrote: Switched to Lucid yesterday and am very unpleased to say, that the issues from kernel xx.31 are still in xx.32, meaning the freeze (almost forgot about it) and the fn keys not working. I (somehow) was sure, these issues would be fixed in kernel 32.
Thanks for the report, greatly appreciated.OphiuchuS wrote: I installed Samsung-tools from the repo however, and can say that, besides I have to use strg + f9 to achieve this, the wlan-led is switching off when deactivating wireless, wich is a thing, I was looking forward to. Thank you Voria!
I have installed as above using lucid. How do I see the applet?voRia wrote:News for Ubuntu Lucid users only:
an initial test version of 'Samsung Tools' is available on the repository.
