[Kubuntu 9.04] nc10-scripts
Posted: 28 Apr 2009, 15:29
by Mirko G.
I installed Kubuntu 9.04 on my NC10 and added Voria repository.
I installed nc10-scripts and configure shortcut via System Settings > Input actions.
I was able to set:
Fn+F5 -> LCD on/off
Fn+F7 -> CPU temp
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+B -> BT toggle
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+W -> WiFi toggle
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+C -> Webcam toggle
Unfortunately btonoff.sh causes kbluetooth4 to crash... and it won't automatically start again.
These work without any modify:
Fn+Left | Fn+Right (Volume up/down)
Fn+F10 (deactivate touchpad)
Fn+Esc (standby)
These shortcuts don't work:
Fn+Up | Fn+Down (increase/decrease backlight)
Fn+F2

Hi !
I have installed Kubuntu and I would like to map my Fn keys too.
Do you think that you can explain to me how you did that? I have found the input entry but I don't know how you did what you did lol.
I created a "new global shortcut" (sorry if it's not exaclty the write word, I don't use english langage) and mapped CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+W for exemple but I don't know what I've to do after that.
It's really too bad that the Voria's wonderful script doesn't work on Kubuntu.
PS: Sorry for my bad english, I hope that you understand me well.
PS2: If you have some tips to increase the reactivity of the system, I take it!:D

Install nc10-scripts and on console enter dpkg -L nc10-scripts after that you can define keys with commands on kde shourtcut editor(in system settings, i dont remember the name at all.).

Thank you
I did what you told me (I don't even know what it did lol).
But my real question was what do I have to type in the "Action" tab? There is four entries: remote application, remote object, function and arguments.
I really don't know what to do with that...:s
I hope that I don't bother you with my newbie questions...
