Problem solved. Seemingly the unstable internet connection did trouble the process. What I did now: Reinstalled ubuntu, did steps as shown in post 1 (had to download some files manually and add them to the cache), rebooted. New kernel was still missing, but it was mentionend in the update-manager (as before). Updated again with this tool (and had some luck cause the connection went down several times while downloading the kernel stuff from the ppa), rebooted again, and now everything seems fine so far.pfiffi wrote:Hi,
