Today a new kernel has been released in the jaunty-proposed repositories, version 2.6.28-12.
The audio crackling problem (bug #345627) when listening to music on Samsung NC10 is finally solved!
I have already uploaded the new 'linux-backports-modules' package for this new kernel on my repository and it will be built in the next few hours, so install it as soon as you can!

After some days using this new kernel, I can say that the situation with audio is even worst than before.
It's true that the crackling problem is fixed, but after some minutes while listening music, the audio goes completely crazy.
I've added a new package on my repository, alsa-modules, which installs an alsa driver 100% working.
Just install it with the command:

Hi,
First of all I would like to thank you for your awesome work. I wasn't 100% happy with my ubuntu experience on my nc10 until I found out you website. Now I can say that my netbook is working out of the box under linux.
THANKS A LOT!
But I have a little problem since I have installed the alsa patch. It seems that it is in conflict with skype. It happens that my system crash completely when sounds from skype and another source are played at the same time. I still can't reproduct the crashs but it append already twice today, I will try to keep you informed if it append again.
I don't know if I am the only one to have this problem but it's pretty annoying.
Take care,
seb0

I'm sorry, I do not use skype so I can't test it.
However, from what you are saying, the problem may be pulseaudio.
Try to use skype with suspended pulseaudio to see if the problem still remains, with the command
If the system continues to crash, then try a newer alsa driver (you can get it from my NC10 repository, installing the 'alsa-modules' package, or from my testing repository for a more newer version).
